Introduction

Poster design & illustration to advertise Raveena's tour promoting her album Lucid

Raveena is an Indian-American singer and songwriter known for her sensual songs and honey-like voice. Her album Lucid explores themes of sexuality, femininity, and spirituality while dealing with her trauma. Taking inspiration from old Bollywood films, Raveena also explores her Indian heritage and culture in the album's sound and visuals.

The Process

I use imageries from Lucid's lyrics, like the sun, the moon, the sky, water, flowers, etc. to tell Raveena's story. The rain represents Raveena's tears - her trauma. The river represents her healing process and harmonizing with life. Her last song in the album, 'Petal', talks about the idea of being okay with death, therefore being symbolized with the waterfall at the bottom.

The color palette is inspired by the album cover itself. I try to capture the etherealness and dreaminess of the songs with soft, flowy lines and gradients. The subtle grains in the gradients give the poster some textures.
